Terms & Conditions for PantryVault

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the PantryVault mobile application (“the Service”, “the app”) operated by Joseph Spears (“I”, “me”, or “my”).

By using PantryVault, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Use of the Service

PantryVault allows you to manage pantry items on your device or optionally sync items with members of a shared household.
You must use the Service in compliance with these Terms and applicable laws.

2. Shared Household Access (No Accounts or Passwords)

PantryVault does not use traditional accounts or passwords.

When you enable household syncing, the app assigns your device a unique anonymous ID.
You are responsible for securing access to your device and your pantry data.

If you suspect unauthorized access, contact me at team@pantryvault.app.

3. User Content & Data

You retain ownership of all data you create in PantryVault, including:

Item names
Photos
Notes
Categories
Household metadata

By using the Service, you grant PantryVault permission to:

Store and sync this content if you enable household features.
Collect anonymous usage data (such as feature usage and app stability metrics) to improve the Service.

I do not use your personal data for advertising or marketing. Anonymous analytics are used strictly for product improvement.

4. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

PantryVault offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (e.g., Recipe Discovery) purchased through Apple's App Store.

Billing: Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Managing subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings.
Free trials: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
EULA: In-app purchases are subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

5. Intellectual Property

All app code, design, features, and branding belong to Joseph Spears. This does not include your user-generated content.

6. Links to Third-Party Services

PantryVault uses:

Google Firebase for household syncing.
OpenFoodFacts for product information and contributions.
PantryVault.app for anonymous analytics and proxy services.

The app may offer or reference links to third-party websites or services. I am not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party services.

7. Termination

I may suspend or revoke access to the shared household feature at any time for violations of these Terms or misuse.

You may stop using the Service at any time. If you want your household data removed, contact me and I will assist with deletion.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for:

Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Data loss
Service interruptions
Unauthorized access
Errors or defects

PantryVault is provided ”AS IS” without warranties of any kind, including:

Merchantability
Fitness for a particular purpose
Non-infringement

Use the Service at your own risk.

9. No Warranty

I do not guarantee that:

The Service will be uninterrupted
Errors will be corrected
The Service will meet your expectations

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

11. Changes to These Terms

I may modify these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
